Top Takeaways from Eat to Beat Disease by Dr. William Li

Like so many nutrition books written by Doctors - they can be a bit brainy and medical jargon oriented.

I've read so many of these books written by doctors, including Grain Brain, Wheat Belly, Obesity, and Diabetes Code, By Dr. Jason Fung, and a whole slew of other books including most all written by Dr. Mark Hyman.

Eating to beat disease -  the goal is preventative care. We talk about healthcare, especially here in the United States where I live. And the reality of it is, we don't really have a healthcare system anymore. We have a sick care system. So when you focus on eating to prevent disease. Now, you're focused on healthcare.

Autopsy studies have shown that on individuals who never had a cancer diagnosis, nearly 40% of women, ages 40 to 50 had microscopic breast cancer cells and 50% of men aged 50 to 60 had prostate cancer cells.

The thyroid gland tapped in at nearly 100% of cancer cells showing up in individuals over 70 during the autopsy. Now, as long as those cells are restricted from enlarging and invading other organs, they can't spread and they won't kill.

Dr. William Li focuses on the 100 plus foods that we'll cover that enhance the body's ability to starve these cells of blood and nutrients.
